Miriam Abdulla became the first women crane operator in Kuwait

Supervisor of processing operations at the Kuwait ports authority Miriam Abdulla Al Mutairi is the first women in Kuwait to have obtained license for operating crane and general license for operating heavy duty equipments, reports local daily.

Even as the job falls in the category of heavy task and men have dominated in this fields for many years, Al Mutairi has demonstrated women ability to work in every part of the labor market, the daily added.

In an Interview with the daily Al Mutairi said, KPA has opened the door for women to work in the field of crane and heavy equipment operation, which for years has been restricted to men.
