Dr. Tahseen Khan’s art exhibition “Be the Change” starts today,Q8

The Embassy of India will present Dr. Tahseen Khan’s art work at an exhibition aptly titled “Be the Change”, at the Bayt Lothan Gallery. Ambassador of India will inaugurate the Exhibition on April 16, 2012 at 6 pm, and the display will continue on April 17 and 18, 2012.

Dr. Tahseen Khan’s passion for life in its varied hues is mirrored in her myriad colors on canvas. Dr. Khan creatively uses mixed media in her art as a language when words no longer do justice to describe a spectacular seaside sunset or a bustling South Indian village landscape.

Art is also her call to action, so with just a different twist of her brush, her colors can evoke a burning desire to take a stand on important issues. Her pieces such as “Despite all Odds”, “War and Peace”, “Liberation” and “Give Me a Chance” depict issues such as social disquiet, disasters and gender discrimination. However, there is something in all of them that gives us hope for a better tomorrow, only if we can “Be the Change”.

Dr. Khan uses art as an outlet to decompress from the intensity of work as a Pediatrician in Kuwait. It calms her soul and gives meaning to life.

The exhibition is an initiative of the Embassy of India in collaboration with the Indian Women’s Association.
